# Best time to post on Threads: find yours

We found no best time to post on Threads from Meta. Your Insights show when your own audience is most active, and you can test those times against each other.

*Guides · Published 2026-10-06*

Meta documents no single best time to post on Threads. What Threads does give you is a **Most active times** readout in your profile Insights, which shows when your own viewers or followers were active over the last 30 days, and that is the best place to start.

This guide covers where to find that readout, which other Insights help you judge a post, how to test two times against each other, and what to know before you schedule Threads posts. We read the Meta pages listed at the end on October 6, 2026, and use no third-party studies or statistics.

## Is there a best time to post on Threads?

We found no best time named by Meta. We read the Threads pages listed at the end and searched Instagram's Help Center for "best time to post on threads"; the roughly 20 result titles we read were not about posting times. We cannot prove no such page exists. The nearest thing is the audience readout described below, which Meta describes as when your viewers or followers were active, not as a rule for everyone.

If you also post on Instagram, our guide to the [best day to post on Instagram](https://www.trackmedia.app/blog/best-day-to-post-on-instagram) covers that network's own reports.

## Where do you see when your Threads audience is most active?

Open your profile Insights and go to the **Audience** tab. The Instagram Help Center page [View insights on Threads](https://help.instagram.com/3675908612671136) lists **Most active times** there and says the times "represent when most of your viewers or followers were active on Threads".

The same page says the times "reflect your current time zone and are calculated based on data from the last 30 days". Its steps for reaching the Insights screen differ by device:

1. **On a computer:** go to threads.com, then click **Insights** in the left menu.
2. **On iPhone or Android:** tap **Profile**, then tap **Insights** in the top left.
3. **Select the Audience tab** and look for **Most active times**, listed after the demographics.

### What the readout does not tell you

Read it as a record of when people were on Threads, not as a forecast. The help page does not say that posting at a busy time raises views, how many followers you need before the readout appears, or whether the times differ between viewers and followers.

## Which other Threads Insights help you judge a post time?

The post-level Insights give you numbers to compare across posting times. On a computer, click **Insights** in the left menu. On mobile, tap a thread you posted, then tap the number of views below **Thread** to open **Post insights**. The same help page lists these fields for a post:

- **Views:** total views, including followers and non-followers.
- **Views over time:** your post's views since it was shared, compared with your typical post. The page says typical views "are calculated based on the median of your last 10 posts".
- **Followers and Non-followers:** how many views came from each group.
- **Top sources of views:** the share of views from Home, Profile, Activity and Search.

The page adds a note: "Some insights metrics are estimated and in-development." Prefer patterns that repeat over small gaps between two posts.

## How do you test your best time to post on Threads?

Pick two times from the readout, post comparable threads at each, and compare views after the same amount of time has passed. The steps below are our method, built from the reports Meta documents.

![Four-step flow for finding your best time to post on Threads: 1 read Most active times in Insights, Audience tab; 2 pick two slots; 3 post similar threads at each slot, alternating, several times each; 4 compare views at the same post age using the median. A note says Meta's page gives no universal best time and no follower minimum for the readout.](https://www.trackmedia.app/assets/img/blog/best-time-to-post-on-threads-fig1.svg)

*A way to test posting times with Threads' own Insights. Meta publishes no universal best time.*

1. **Choose two slots.** Use **Most active times** to pick two different weekday-and-hour combinations, in your own time zone.
2. **Keep everything else alike.** Post the same kind of thread at both times, such as text only against text only. A photo and a one-line question will not compare fairly.
3. **Alternate and repeat.** Rotate the two slots across several posts each. One thread proves little.
4. **Compare at the same age.** Post Insights shows views since the post was shared, so a newer post will always look smaller. Check every post after the same wait, such as 48 hours.
5. **Use the median.** Meta itself uses the median of your last 10 posts as your typical post. One breakout thread can lift an average and hide an ordinary result.

Here is a small example with invented numbers, not Threads data. You post 4 threads at a weekday 8 a.m. slot and 4 at a weekday 7 p.m. slot, and read views at 48 hours. The morning posts get 410, 380, 520 and 450 (median 430); the evening posts get 300, 610, 280 and 330 (median 315). The averages (440 morning, 380 evening) look fairly close, but one 610 post lifts the evening figure, and the medians (430 against 315) show the morning slot is ahead.

Keep a slot that wins more than once and test it against a new challenger. The same method works elsewhere, as in our guides to the [best time to post on X](https://www.trackmedia.app/blog/best-time-to-post-on-x) and the [best time to post on TikTok](https://www.trackmedia.app/blog/best-time-to-post-on-tiktok).

## What should you know before scheduling Threads posts?

Check the length first. Meta's [Threads API overview](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/overview) says "Text posts are limited to 500 characters." The Help Center page [Start a new thread on Threads](https://help.instagram.com/1217144552251333) (iPhone and Android view) points the same way: "If your thread contains more than 500 characters, another thread will be added automatically." For posts published through the API, the [Threads Posts](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/posts) page adds a counting rule: "Emojis are counted as the number of UTF-8 bytes".

The same overview says a profile is limited to 250 API-published posts within a 24-hour moving period. That ceiling is far above a testing plan and matters only if you queue many posts through a tool.

We searched the Help Center for "schedule a post on threads" and found no article about scheduling a Threads post; the results covered drafts, editing, pinning and tagging, plus scheduling on Instagram. That is not proof that no such option exists, so check the new-post screen in your own app. The [Start a new thread on Threads](https://help.instagram.com/1217144552251333) page lists no scheduling control among its computer and iPhone options.

## How does TrackMedia help you find your best time?

TrackMedia's code includes a Threads connector, and its **Best times** tab on the [Analytics](https://www.trackmedia.app/#analytics) page averages engagement by publish hour from your own posts. We did not confirm whether the Threads connector is live in the production deployment. Here is what the view does, read from the code on October 6, 2026:

- **Shows a weekday-by-hour grid** titled "When your posts land best", in your workspace's time zone, built from posts that went out in the range you pick. Network and account filters narrow it to Threads.
- **Ranks only slots with enough posts.** "Your strongest slots" lists only slots with at least 3 posts behind them. Slots with fewer are shown greyed and labelled as too few to rank.
- **Suggests times in the composer.** When you schedule in [TrackMedia's composer](https://www.trackmedia.app/#publish), slots that passed that bar, from the last 90 days, appear as quick picks labelled "Best". These suggestions use every network in your workspace, not Threads alone.

The Threads connector reads each post's views, likes and replies, and adds reposts and quotes together as shares. Its engagement rate is likes, replies and shares divided by views, capped at 100 percent, and it is left out when views are missing or zero. That is TrackMedia's own figure, and Meta's page marks the views metric as in development. The connector can also list a profile's existing threads.

### What TrackMedia cannot tell you

- It does not read the **Most active times** readout. The metrics listed on Meta's [Threads Insights API](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/insights) page include no time-of-day metric, so use the Threads app to pick your candidate slots.
- The grid looks backward at what you already published, and it needs 3 posts in a weekday-and-hour slot before ranking it.
- A post scheduled in TrackMedia is held by TrackMedia and published at the chosen time. The composer's character counter counts plain text length and does not apply Threads' byte counting for emoji, so a long post with emoji needs a manual check.

If you want one calendar for the times you decide to test, you can [start free with TrackMedia](https://go.trackmedia.app/signup).

## How we checked this

We opened each page below in a browser on October 6, 2026 and copied labels and wording from it. We did not test any of this on a live Threads profile, so the testing steps are our method, not Meta's.

- [View insights on Threads](https://help.instagram.com/3675908612671136) (Instagram Help Center, computer, iPhone and Android views): Insights paths, post and profile metrics, Most active times, the median of your last 10 posts, the in-development note.
- [Start a new thread on Threads](https://help.instagram.com/1217144552251333) (Instagram Help Center, computer and iPhone views): the posting options, with no scheduling control, and the 500-character note.
- [Help Center search for "schedule a post on threads"](https://help.instagram.com/search/?query=schedule%20a%20post%20on%20threads): the list of results, with no scheduling article for Threads. A second search, ["best time to post on threads"](https://help.instagram.com/search/?query=best%20time%20to%20post%20on%20threads), returned 50 results, none about posting times in the titles we read.
- [Threads API overview](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/overview) (Meta for Developers, updated December 22, 2025 on the page): the 500-character text limit and the 250 posts per 24 hours limit.
- [Threads Posts](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/posts) (Meta for Developers, updated April 14, 2026 on the page): the 500-character limit and the rule that emojis are counted as UTF-8 bytes.
- [Threads Insights API](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/insights) (Meta for Developers, updated January 30, 2026 on the page): the post and profile metrics the API offers.

What we could not verify: any Meta-recommended day or hour, whether posting at a busy time raises views, how many followers the Most active times readout needs, whether it differs between viewers and followers, and whether the Threads app has a scheduling control. We make no claim on those. TrackMedia's own behavior comes from its analytics, composer and Threads connector code, read the same day.
