To create a company page on LinkedIn, click the **For Business** icon in the upper-right corner of your LinkedIn homepage, scroll down and click **Create a Company Page**, choose the Page type, fill in the details and click **Create page**. LinkedIn Help says you can create a Page for free, and that you need a LinkedIn account to do it.

This guide uses LinkedIn Help's "Create a LinkedIn Page", "Troubleshoot creating a LinkedIn Page" and "Create a LinkedIn Page best practices" pages, read on October 22, 2026. It covers the desktop and iOS steps, the URL rules, why the creation can fail, and how to schedule posts for the Page once it exists.

### On the iOS app

1. **Go to any LinkedIn Page.**
2. **Tap the More icon** on the right and select **Create a LinkedIn Page**.
3. **Select the Page type:** Company or Educational institution.
4. **Enter your Company name, LinkedIn public URL, Website, Industry, Company size, Company type** and a Tagline (optional).

6. **Tap Create** in the upper-right corner.

Once you have created the Page, you become the super admin and can assign others to be admins. If you need a different type later, the page says admins can convert their Page.

## What are the URL rules for a LinkedIn Page?

The best practices page says all Page URLs are structured as linkedin.com/company/[your company name], and that members and search engines use this unique URL to find your Page. If your first choice is taken by another organization, you can still create a Page with a different URL. The rules:

- It must contain at least one non-numeric character.
- It can't contain uppercase letters. It can contain lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, or Chinese, Japanese or Korean Unicode characters.
- It can't include more than one consecutive hyphen, and can't start or end with a hyphen.
- Improper characters are automatically replaced with a hyphen.

## Why can't I create a LinkedIn company page?

LinkedIn Help's troubleshooting page lists the common errors and their fixes:

| Error | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Page with the same name already exists | Check whether it represents your organization and request admin access, or create a new Page with an unused URL. |
| Not enough LinkedIn connections | Your account must have more than one connection with another member. Send invitations first. |
| Created too many Pages in one day | Wait a few days before trying again. |
| New LinkedIn account | Wait at least one day after creating your account. |
| LinkedIn URL already in use | Pick another URL, for example abcinc instead of abc. |
| Unverified workplace | Verify your work experience by work email or Microsoft Entra Verified ID. |

Two more causes are listed: more than 25 Showcase Pages on one Page, and browser issues, where the page suggests clearing your cache and cookies or using a different browser. It also says a Page should represent your business or school and not a member profile, and that personal profiles representing businesses might be flagged as spam or abuse.

## What should you do right after creating the Page?

The best practices page recommends:

- Complete all of the sections. LinkedIn says complete Pages see a 30 percent increase in weekly Page views.
- Add other super admins in case one loses access or leaves the organization. LinkedIn can't provide Page admin information to members or replace or remove admins.
- Protect the Page with two-factor authentication and verification.
- Share the Page on LinkedIn and other platforms with the **Share Page** button in your admin view.
- Review analytics by clicking **Page posts** in the left panel of your admin view.

If you add the Page as your employer to your profile, it might take 14 to 30 days to show up as an associated employee on that Page.

## How to schedule LinkedIn Page posts with TrackMedia

A new Page needs a steady stream of posts more than it needs a perfect first one. TrackMedia lets you connect your Page and plan posts ahead, alongside your other networks. LinkedIn is available on every plan, including the free one.

- **Connect the Page.** Posting as a Page needs an admin or content-admin role on it. One sign-in can cover every Page you have a posting role on.
- **Write once.** The composer fits a version to LinkedIn and to your other networks, adds first comments and mentions, and runs preflight checks before publishing.
- **Plan the first weeks.** Use the calendar, a posting queue and content collections that fill queue slots. See [a LinkedIn content planner](https://www.trackmedia.app/blog/linkedin-content-planner) and [the best time to post on LinkedIn](https://www.trackmedia.app/blog/best-time-to-post-on-linkedin).
- **Measure it.** Page analytics include reactions, comments, impressions, reach, clicks and shares per post, plus followers and Page views, and UTM tags show clicks per post and per network.
