# How to see your subscribers on YouTube

In YouTube Studio, open the Dashboard and click See all on Recent subscribers, or open Analytics and the Realtime card for your count. Phone steps too.

*Guides · Published 2026-10-25*

To see your subscribers on YouTube, sign in to YouTube Studio, open the Dashboard, find the **Recent subscribers** card and click **See all**. For your total count, open **Analytics**, go to the **Overview** tab and click **SEE LIVE COUNT** on the Realtime card. On a phone, the YouTube app lists your subscribers under your channel.

This guide follows YouTube's Help pages on [checking your recent subscribers](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7280745) and [checking your subscriber count](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6051134), read on October 22, 2026, including the computer, Android and iPhone versions. It also explains why some subscribers never appear and why your count can drop.

## How to see your subscribers on YouTube

You have two different things to look at: the list of people who subscribed recently, and the total number. YouTube keeps them in different places.

### See your recent subscribers on a computer

1. **Sign in to YouTube Studio** with the channel's account.
2. **Open the Dashboard** and find the **Recent subscribers** card.
3. **Click See all** to expand the card.

YouTube's tip on the page: from the top of the expanded list you can choose a timeframe and sort the list by subscriber count.

### See your subscriber count over time on a computer

1. **Sign in to YouTube Studio.**
2. **Select Analytics** in the left menu.
3. **On the Overview tab, find the Realtime card.**
4. **Click SEE LIVE COUNT** to view your subscriber count over time.

### See your subscribers on Android and iPhone

The Android and iPhone versions of YouTube's page give the same steps. In the **YouTube Studio app**:

1. **Open the YouTube Studio app.**
2. **From the bottom Menu, tap Analytics.**
3. **On the Overview tab, find the Realtime card** and tap it for more detailed metrics.

In the **YouTube app**, to see who subscribed:

1. **Open the YouTube app** and tap **You** at the bottom right.
2. **Tap View channel** under your name.
3. **Tap See your subscribers** under your channel name.

YouTube says only you, as the channel owner, can see your subscribers there, sorted by recency. The Help page does not give mobile steps for the Recent subscribers card, so on a phone use the YouTube app list above.

## Why can't I see all my subscribers?

Because YouTube only lists some of them. Its page says a subscriber appears on your recent subscribers list if they chose to make their subscriptions public and they subscribed in the last 28 days. Someone who keeps their subscriptions private, or whose account is suspended or identified as spam, may not show.

The page adds that subscriptions are private by default. A missing name is therefore not proof that someone unsubscribed. YouTube also says the Subscribers List on your channel shows only people who made their subscriptions public.

The practical result: you can count your subscribers exactly, but you can only name some of them, and only recent ones in the Studio list. YouTube's pages do not describe a way to export or see the full list of private subscribers, so we do not claim one exists.

## What does your audience see on your channel?

Viewers see a shortened number. YouTube's subscriber count page says the public count is shortened depending on how many subscribers you have, and it updates in steps rather than one at a time:

| If you have | Public count updates for every | Example shown |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Under 1,000 | 1 new subscriber | 123 |
| 1,000 to 9,999 | 10 new subscribers | 1.23 K (from 1,234) |
| 10,000 to 99,999 | 100 new subscribers | 12.3 K (from 12,345) |

The page continues the pattern: above 100,000 the count updates for every 1,000 new subscribers, and above 1,000,000 for every 10,000. The real-time number in your Analytics is the exact one. The page says you can view your count in real time and your growth over time in YouTube Analytics, and that you get an email and a congratulatory animation in YouTube Studio at a milestone.

## Why did my subscriber count drop?

YouTube's page lists three reasons, and the first is ordinary. Viewers subscribe and unsubscribe normally. YouTube also removes spam subscribers and closed accounts from your count.

- **Spam subscribers.** YouTube defines these as subscribers gained through artificial means, such as buying subscribers from a third-party service. If removal affects you, YouTube says you will get an alert in YouTube Studio.
- **Closed accounts.** Accounts closed by their owner, or terminated or suspended by YouTube for a policy violation, do not count. You can see how many deleted their accounts in YouTube Analytics, where they appear as "closed accounts."
- **Accidental unsubscribes.** YouTube says some viewers unsubscribed by accident, and it has added a confirmation pop-up (not available on iPhone and iPad at the time of the page).

YouTube also says it does not automatically unsubscribe viewers. If a fan says your videos vanished, the Home tab does not guarantee every subscription video, but the Subscriptions feed shows every video you publish unless you used the advanced setting to keep a video out of it. For how often to publish, see [how often to post on YouTube](https://www.trackmedia.app/blog/how-often-to-post-on-youtube).

## How to see how your subscribers watch your videos

Knowing the number is only half of it. YouTube Analytics can also split a single video's audience into subscribers and non-subscribers. YouTube's page on [audience retention](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9314415) describes the steps for a computer:

1. **Sign in to YouTube Studio** and select **Content** from the left menu.
2. **On the video you want to check, select Analytics.**
3. **Open the Overview or Engagement tab** and look for the **Audience retention** report.
4. **Under Segments,** pick the drop-down and choose **Subscriber & non-subscriber**, among the segment types listed.

The page notes that you might need to enable Advanced Mode to reach some of this data, that retention data typically takes one to two days to process, and that the report is only available at the video level. Key moments are highlighted only if the video is at least 60 seconds long and has at least 100 views.

Use it to answer a practical question: do your existing subscribers stay longer than people who found you through search or recommendations? If subscribers drop off early, your intro is probably not matching what they came back for. If non-subscribers drop off early, the problem is more likely the title or thumbnail that brought them in. Our post on [Shorts length, size and aspect ratio](https://www.trackmedia.app/blog/youtube-shorts-length-size-and-aspect-ratio) covers format choices that affect this for short videos.

## How to track YouTube subscribers with TrackMedia

TrackMedia keeps a running record of your subscriber count so you do not have to open Studio to see the trend. You connect your channel through Google's authorization window, and TrackMedia reads the channel's subscriber count once a day, along with lifetime views and video count, and saves every reading so you can chart growth.

- **Subscriber growth next to your posts.** Line up a jump in subscribers with the video or Short you published that day.
- **Views, likes and comments per video.** See them per post, including videos you uploaded outside TrackMedia.
- **Tracked links in descriptions.** Put a tracked link with UTM tags in a video description to see the clicks and visitors it sent you, per video.
- **All networks together.** Publish once to 21 networks, including YouTube, and compare results in one analytics view.

## Questions people also ask

### How do I see my subscribers on YouTube?

In YouTube Studio, open the Dashboard and click See all on the Recent subscribers card. For the total count and its growth, open Analytics, then the Overview tab, then the Realtime card. TrackMedia also records your count daily.

### How do I check my subscribers on my phone?

In the YouTube Studio app, tap Analytics from the bottom Menu and open the Realtime card on the Overview tab. In the YouTube app, tap You, then View channel, then See your subscribers.

They probably keep their subscriptions private, which is the default. The Studio list shows only public subscribers from the last 28 days.
